Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Franklin Y. P. Lau, O.D. the leading provider of vision care products and services in Honolulu.

Franklin Y. P. Lau, O.D.

Dr. Lau is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry, and has been in private practice over 30 years. He is a 4th generation Chinese American, born and raised in Honolulu. After serving over 32 years with the US Army and US Army Reserve, Dr. Lau recently retired from military service with the rank of Colonel. His community involvement include serving as a Lion, with numerous Chinese societies, state professional organizations, and the Hawaii Board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Lau was recognized by the Hawaii Optometric Association in 1989 as its Man of the Year, and in 1995 as Optometrist of the Year. His pride and joy are his beautiful wife, daughters, and grandchildren!

Dr. Lau is trained and certified in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye diseases and visual disorders, including vision rehabilitation with specialty contact lenses and low-vision devices.

 

Joanna Ma, O.D. 

Dr. Joanna Ma received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, California. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Ma received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She is currently a member of the Hawaii Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Ma enjoys traveling, being outdoors, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
